Andrew Merritt-Morling is an entrepreneur, portfolio Non-Executive Director / Trustee, board advisor, accredited Executive coach/business mentor, a business angel, interim manager, and consultant. He founded Six Pillars Management Ltd in 2007. He has created 3 start-up businesses, and has turned around 2 owner-managed businesses. Between 1997 and 2002, he was an advisor to four Secretaries of State for Trade and Industry during the Blair administration. After leaving the government, he then spent some time as a national policy lead for promoting an entrepreneurial environment and lobbying policy makers on small business issues for the Federation of Small Businesses. Since 2005, he has invested his own money in five businesses as a business angel, one of which was floated on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM). During the same period, he has supported more than a dozen public sector organisations and charities to achieve significant financial savings through leading a portfolio of programmes and projects. Andrew also provides motivational talks to business owners, participates in Dragons Den-style panel events for companies seeking business angel investment, and nurtures young entrepreneurs to develop their own businesses. Andrew is also an advisor to a number of small- to medium-sized businesses as both a board advisor and to individual executives as a coach/mentor, and is building a portfolio of non-executive director and trustee roles.
