Double award nomination for Yorkshire based founder of Beer Hawk

Mark Roberts, co-founder and CEO of Beer Hawk, has been shortlisted for two prestigious business awards: Disruptor of the Year at The Great British Entrepreneur Awards and Business Person of the Year at the SME National Business Awards.

The nominations come off the back of another successful year for Beer Hawk which has seen huge growth and has pivoted from a pure-play online retailer to an omni-channel business.

Earlier this year, Beer Hawk opened two bars and bottle shops in London and has plans for another two openings in September.

For Mark personally, it's also been a positive year; he was recently appointed to the Board of the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership. Always passionate about his community and helping businesses to succeed in the Yorkshire area, Mark continues to Chair the Independent Advisory Panel of the Army Foundation College in Harrogate.

Beer Hawk is the UK's leading craft beer retailer, offering a highly curated range of over 1,000 of the best craft and speciality beers from around the world. They are offered as a "pick n' mix" selection or via discovery cases. They also offer a large selection of beery gifts and run a monthly beer subscription club.

Speaking about the awards, Mark Roberts said: "It's always amazing to be recognised for the work you do within a company, especially your own company. Beer Hawk was founded on four key values and I'm delighted to say those are still front of mind in our day to day business. Our team is the best there is and without them, none of this would be possible. I'm delighted to be a finalist in both awards and I'm even more proud to be representing Yorkshire in two great categories."

The finals of the SME National Business Awards take place on the 6th December at Wembley Stadium.
